Antoinette Tyrrell

Antoinette grew up in a working-class family in rural Ireland, she holds a BA in English Literature and History from NUI Maynooth, along with a post-grad in Communications and worked for many years handling public relations crises for Irish Government agencies. In 2020, despite her Mammy warning her she was a ‘woeful eejit’ she quit her permanent and pensionable job and moved to the southeast of Spain, where she now lives by the Mediterranean with her husband Ahmed. She works as a content creator and ghostwriter. Her writing has appeared in The Irish Times, the UK Times and The Irish Examiner.

Her dual-time novel, Home to Cavendish, was published by Irish publisher Poolbeg in 2019. She shares her thoughts about all things reading, writing and publishing on her newsletter the Writing Mentor. (Please sign up if you want to find out more about her upcoming publications!)

Her debut RomCom novel, Lucy Gallagher’s Big Move to Spain will be published in April 2027. Lucy’s adventures can be followed on Instagram at LucyGinSpain where everyone’s soon-to-be favourite RomCom character gets to grips with the fact it’s now perfectly acceptable to drink wine at 11 AM on a Tuesday and getting something done ‘mañana’ is a flexible concept.

Antoinette is currently working on an Irish-based Christmas RomCom.
