Richard T. Cahill Jr. received his undergraduate degree in History/Political Science from Mount Saint Mary College in 1993 and earned his juris doctorate degree in 1996 from Albany Law School.  He is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and previously served as the representative in the House of Delegates for the New York State Bar Association.

His professional experience includes clerking for a criminal court judge, serving as both an assistant district attorney and a criminal defense attorney, and practicing civil law. Currently, he represents injured workers and volunteer firefighters.

He previously served as a Fire Commissioner in the City of Kingston, New York from 2012 to 2016, and is an active social member of A.H. Wicks Engine & Truck Company, the oldest volunteer fire company in the City of Kingston.

For many years, he served as an Attorney Advisor for the Coleman High School Mock Trial Team. He is also a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is a first-degree brown belt in judo and is currently training for his Shodan or black belt.

Cahill wrote Hauptmann’s Ladder: A Step-by-Step Analysis of the Lindbergh Kidnapping. The book has been described as “the definitive examination of the Lindbergh case” and was awarded the Gold Medal prize as 2014 Indie Fab True Crime Book of the Year.

Cahill’s second book, Sidetracked: The Betrayal and Murder of Anna Kithcart, received the 2017 Indie Fab True Crime Book of the Year Honorable Mention Award.

Cahill’s third book, Deadly Grief, is a complex and chilling crime fiction thriller.

Cahill’s fourth book, Snap Judgment, is a crime fiction mystery that reminds us that there is a fine line between justice and revenge. It is scheduled for release on December sixth and would make a wonderful Christmas present.
