WD Jackson-Smart

Will Jackson-Smart grew in Birmingham and at an early age was shown the wonder of books and reading, encouraged to always have a book on the go. As an avid horror fan, taking after his dad, he began by reading the Point Horror Series and Christopher Pike before moving to more adult authors such as Dean Koontz and Stephen King. He also added crime to his reading lists due to his mother’s passion for crime writers of all sorts, from Agatha Christie to Mark Billingham and Chris Carter.

Will decided to start writing one day while at the cinema and watching a film scene that he thought he could have written better. It spurred him to try his hand at creating his own full novel, which he self-published in his early twenties under his author name WD Jackson.

Now married, adding a second surname, and living in London, having spent a lifetime of enjoying horror and crime entertainment across all mediums, Will has been enjoying combining both genres to try and create something unique and different with his London-based crime series (led by Detective Inspector Daniel Graves). Aiming to appeal to fans of serial killers and slasher villains alike, even sometimes blending the thought of the supernatural into the police procedurals, Will writes commercial crime fiction that will have readers desperate to see what comes next. As a gay author, he also enjoys representing diversity and inclusion within his characters and storylines.
